The History of Pudukottai A.G Church divided into 4 stages.

1. First stage (1990-1996)

2. Second stage(1997-2004)

3. Third stage(2004-2015)

4. Fourth stage(2015 –still now)

First stage (1990-1996)

In 1990, Rev. Johnson started his ministry in Pudukottai, when late pastor K.C Andrew was the Regional Head Pastor of Thoothukudi. In the early days the church did not have a single believer and a place to worship our god. They started doing ministry from about 6 months in a house without electricity. The Pastor Rev. Deva Pitchai who sent us to pray and bless said God will bless and raise you in that (Pudukottai) town. From 1990 to 1996, Pastor Johnson and his family went through many obstacles, accusations, and insults. It came to a point where many houses had to be moved. That 6 year's ministry was our foundation. A site was purchased for the church. About 40 people became believers. In 1996, the responsibility was given to Pastor Rev. J. Samuel Jebaraj (Son of Rev. Johnson) by the management team. The old site was sold and a new site was purchased for the church. 3 times in those 6 years the shed for worship was blown down by the wind. Even in this situation worship was going on without any hindrance. 30 people were baptized during those years.

Second stage (1997-2004)

At the point the Church began to grow in numbers and spiritual quality. Some sued over the land purchased for the church. So couldn’t start any construction work. Worship was held in a thatched tent. During this period people started coming to the Church not only from Pudukottai but also from the surrounding villages. Despite the opposition, the church continued to grow. In the year 2000, the worship was shifted to a new place. Additional land was bought and a shed was put up with Aspetar. The shed collapsed due to stormy winds. Pastor and his family escaped alive with minor injuries. God saved them. Many people started talking as the church's activities were over. But the believers did not back down a bit. Immediately the thatched shed was put up and the worship was going on. After one year, the church construction work was started in the project of Rs.15, 000. By God's grace the church was consecrated in 2004 under the leadership of Rev. Rajamani without any debt. It was great that late Y. Jayaraj Ayya took part in the consecration of the church.

Third Stage ( 2004-2015)

After the consecration of church, the church started planning and implementing development project of the church. New missions and branch churches were started. As Care cells were started, many leaders rose to action. The church began to grow and started 3 services in the morning and 1 in the evening. People from villages around Pudukottai started coming to the Church. God helped to name the area where the church was located as Santhosh Nagar. To this day it remains Santhosh Nagar. As the church began to gather, problems continued to arise from the people in and around the place. We cried out to God as a church. Fasting days were appointed. God heard the prayer and gave the name of Holy Mountain to this present ministry. We started praying with a vision of the Holy Mountain. By God's grace, he helped to buy a place on the main road for 50 cents. This place was bought in 2010 for 25 lakhs. A fort wall and a shed were built at the purchased site at a cost of 20 lakhs. Bathroom and toilet facilities are provided. Holy Mountain A.G Church 4 services were held every Sunday in the shed. There was also a space crisis. We prayed as a church. We waited patiently for God's advice for 4 years. God told us to start the work in 3 phases on June 2014. So with faith Work started. By God's grace the work was going on without any hindrance. God changed all kinds of obstacles that came. The prayers and cooperation of believers are commendable. They generously gave for the construction. God graced to complete the Church construction in Rs.1, 47, 00,000 (1 Crore 47 Lakhs) project. About 1200 people came to the Sunday service. After the consecration of the church on June 11th 2015, worship is being held every Sunday four services. New people started coming to all the services. The Church began to grow in ministry.12 different ministries were carried out by the Church. They are Village Ministry, Prayer Walk Ministry, Prayer war Ministry, Children’s ministry, Follow up ministry, Counseling ministry, helping hand ministry, Hospital ministry, Care cell Ministry, Magazine Ministry, T.V ministry, Missionary ministry. God gave the church the burden of missionary work. Accordingly he graced to help and support missionaries and mission children in areas like Rajasthan, Gujarat, Punjab and Delhi. Also send the missionaries to the mission field. Pudukottai and its 65 surrounding villages were divided into 12 divisions and 24 division leaders were appointed. A total of 190 care cells were functioning under them.

Fourth stage ( 2015- still now)

Since 2015, the lord has led the church on the path of development. The need for more equipment such as Monitors, Mikes, Speakers, Projectors, Cameras, Generator for the Church was high. We prayed for it. The Lord met the needs. Also, the Lord helps us to buy a huge amount of Red color beam seating type chair for the Church. The church emphasized prayer. The Lord raised up an army that prayed 24 hours a day and night. A prayer room was set up for them and prayer notes were placed in it for them to pray. Rabha tribe: When the pastor prayed for the nation, the Lord said, "I will give you a race of people in this nation."Also Lord gave the word "Rabha" while praying for it. And to confirm the word, Tirunelveli Zone Pastor’s Meeting informed that Assam State has now been allocated to Tirunelveli Section. In the state of Assam, there are many Raba people living in the state. Thus, the Lord gave the burden of the Raba people to the Church. At present the population of Rabha tribe is 6 lakh, but only 5.26% of them are Christians. By 2023 the Raba people are being adopted, prayed for, and sent missionaries to do the ministry. And God praised the grace to help more missionaries and give to the building work of other churches. New branch churches, Students for Christ ministry, Media Ministry and COC ministries were started. The Lord was gracious to raise up full-time Servants of God. At present, the church has 2000 believers, 190 care groups and 15 types of ministries. Shekina Hall: A huge space was needed for the church's children's worship, youth meeting, prayer hall, recording and studio. The children's prayer hall behind the church was dilapidated. At that place, the new Shekina Hall construction work was planned to be done in 3 phases. By God's grace, the work was completed and the consecration took place on 2nd March, 2024. For the first time, Hindi service was started on March 30th and it is being held every Sunday evening from 5 pm to 6 pm.
